How Do I Care for My Leather Case?

A professional leather case is more than a way to protect your iPad, MacBook, Samsung Galaxy, Kindle Fire or other brand of laptop or tablet. Beautiful leather is an investment in yourself – your image and your confidence. Our genuine leather products are made to be as durable as they are fashionable, but you may need to put a little time into caring for the material to keep it looking its best.

Leather naturally acquires a patina and wear marks from everyday use. This is nothing to worry about and only adds to the character of your travel bag or case. If you wish to clean away oils or dirt, choose a quality leather cleaner and conditioner such as those made for leather car seats. These products can change the look and feel of the leather, so try a test patch before rubbing it on the exterior of the bag or case.

When you're ready to clean the leather, first go over it with a clean, soft cloth. Apply the cleaner according to the instructions and rub it gently into the leather. Follow with a gentle polish using a soft, dry cloth. Afterward, restore the leather with a conditioner.

Don't be alarmed if your leather case accidentally gets wet. Blot away the excess liquid and allow the leather to dry naturally. Don't rub at the leather, as this can damage the finish. Once the leather is dry, you may wish to go over it lightly with a leather conditioner.

Keep your leather case out of direct sunlight and away from heat, which can quickly dry out the leather and lead to cracking. If you need to store the case or bag for a period of time, you may wish to tuck it into a cloth bag or pillowcase to protect it from dust. Don't store it in a plastic bin or bag as this blocks air from reaching the leather. Also, avoid piling other items on top of your leather case as this can create indentations in the leather from the metal hardware.

With occasional care, your leather bag or case should serve you quite nicely for many years to come.
